Lux et Lapis (Light and Stone) Release

Adam joins forces with Belmont University faculty Joel Treybig (trumpet) and Andrew Risinger, organ for a new double trumpet and organ project. The project has already received critical acclaim and includes a tour and album recording of new and interesting works for the trio, including a commissioned piece, Lux et Lapis, by composer Kevin McKee. The album released internationally on Curvepoint Media, September of 2014.

Adam Presents Clinic at ITG

Adam was honored to present a feature clinic at the International Trumpet Guild Conference held in May (2014) in Valley Forge, PA.

Etesian Traveler Release

On March 1st, 2014 Curvepoint Media internationally releases Etesian Traveler, an album of fresh new music for trumpet, piano, and percussion. Adam joins Kris Carlisle (piano) and John David (percussion) for this project.


Conference Scholarships Coordinator - International Trumpet Guild

ITG Release (July, 2013) - Dr. Adam Hayes of Berry College in Rome, Georgia, USA has been appointed Conference Scholarships Coordinator, effective June 16, 2013.

Adam follows Dr. Wade Weast in the position. Dr. Weast held the position for many years, handling literally hundreds of scholarships for students wishing to attend the summer conferences. His service is much appreciated by all.

Dr. Hayes began his duties immediately following the 2013 conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He will be selecting music for the various genres and age groups involved for the conference scholarship competitions, selecting judges, and providing oversight for those competitions and awards.

 

Back in the Studio!

May 2013 - Adam joins Kris Carlisle (piano) and John David (percussion) for four days of recording sessions on the campus of the University of North Georgia. The resulting project is an album of new works for trumpet, piano, and percussion. Etesian Traveler will be released in March, 2014 on the Curvepoint label.

Premieres of Three New Works on Fall Recital Tour

In October 2012, Adam, percussionist John David, and pianist Kris Carlisle premiere the latest works by composers: Robert Bradshaw, Las Aprencias Enganan, He, Jianjun Sonatina, and Lawrence Krammer, Star and Shadow. These three world premieres are part of a fall recital tour.

Adam to perform at the International Trumpet Guild Conference!

Adam will perform on a concert entitled "Trumpet & Dance" at the 2012 ITG Conference. He joins friends Kris Carlisle and John David to present the world premiere of Etesian Traveler by Amy Dunker, a new composition for trumpet, piano, percussion, and dancers.

The concert is scheduled for Wednesday, May 23rd at 1 p.m.

Also during the conference, Adam will serve as Chair of the International Solo Competition and perform on the conference-culminating "Festival of Trumpets".

 

Adam Hayes and Kris Carlisle are spotlighted as part of a national chamber music celebration

Hayes and Carlisle’s presentation of the world premiere performance of Etesian Traveler by composer Amy Dunker, is part of a nationwide initiative to raise public awareness of the many styles of small ensemble music performed and presented today.

The world premiere performance of Etesian Traveler will take place at The International Trumpet Guild Conference in Columbus, GA on May 23, 2012.

Fall 2011 Tour!

The Release of CURRENT

2011 ITG Conference & National Anthem for Minnesota Twins Game

Adam is attending the 2011 International Trumpet Guild Conference in Minneapolis, MN in May. He will serve as a judge for the ITG Solo Competition and the Youth Solo Competition. Adam will perform on the Festival of Trumpets concert and join a trumpet ensemble performing the National Anthem at a Minnesota Twins game!

 

Masterclass with the Tri-State Trumpet Ensemble

On February 6, 2011, Adam enjoyed working with the Tri-State Trumpet Ensemble. The Tri-State Trumpet Ensemble provides specialized training for trumpeters in the Cincinnati metro-area.

Spivey Hall Children's Choir Concert

Adam is excited to perform with The Spivey Hall Children's Choir on their feature concert at the 2010 Chorus America Convention in Atlanta, 6/17/10. He will perform Cantate Domino (Ruth Watson Henderson) with the choir, Dr. Martha Shaw, conductor. The piece will be recorded the following week for the choir's upcoming album.

 

World Premiere - A Sketch of Monochrome

On April 22, 2010, Adam Hayes and pianist Kris Carlisle will premiere the latest work by composer Steven Landis. A Sketch of Monochrome (2010) was commissioned by Hayes and Carlisle; the premiere is the highlight of a collaborative recital given at Berry College. 7:30 p.m., Ford Auditorium.

 

Lecture & Master Class at The University of New Mexico

B.J.E. Presents: An Evening with Melvin Jones

The Berry College Jazz Ensemble will host jazz trumpeter Melvin Jones on Thursday, November 13, 2008. The concert will feature a wide variety of contemporary arrangements for jazz ensemble, many of which will accompany the renowned trumpeter. The concert will be held in Ford Auditorium on the Berry Campus at 7:30 p.m., and will also be recorded for public television.

Governor's Honors Program 2008

Adam joins the faculty of the Georgia Governor's Honors Program again this summer where he teaches in the music department. The summer program is designed to provide intellectually gifted and artistically talented high school students of Georgia challenging and enriching educational opportunities.

 

Performances in La Paz, Bolivia

Regional Premiere

In recital on April 15, 2008, Adam will perform the regional premiere of Lament, Song, and Prayer, a new piece by composer Mark Francis. The collaborative recital with renowned pianist Dr. Kris Carlisle, will take place on the Berry College Campus and feature works by American Composers.

 

Featured Soloist with Rome Symphony

Georgia District 7 Jazz Clinic

Adam has been invited to serve as a clinician for Georgia's District 7 Jazz Clinics in 2008. The event will be held in Rossville, GA, January 4th -5th.

 

G.A.J.E. Clinic

(fall 2007) Adam will serve as a clinician for the Georgia Association of Jazz Educators Annual Jazz Clinic. This year's clinic will be held on the campus of North Georgia College & State University November 30 - December 1.

G.A.J.E. is a regional affiliate of The International Association for Jazz Education.

 

 

Adam joins faculty of Berry College

Beginning in August 2007, Adam will be teaching in the music department at Berry College in Rome, GA. His duties will include teaching the trumpet studio and conducting the Berry Jazz Ensembles. "Berry College is recognized as one of the most outstanding comprehensive colleges in the South."

 

Regional Premiere

Adam will perform the regional premiere of Brandon Hendrix's Anniversary Portrait for Trumpet and Piano on a faculty collaborative recital at North Georgia College & State University, February 22, 2007. This recital marks the second-ever performance of the piece.
